September 21- Introductions and planning for the quarter
October 19 - The colloquium will discuss Michelle Murphy’s The Economization of Life. The book is available for free as an e-book from Northwestern’s library/
November 9 - Sergio Sismondo, the editor of Social Studies of Science, will speak with the colloquium about publishing.
Winter Quarter
February 1 - Writing Workshop focusing on grant proposals, dissertation chapters and conference papers
February 8 - In preparation for Professor Naveeda Khan's Klopsteg Lecture on March 1, we will read and discuss "Dogs and Humans and What Earth Can Be".
February 22 - A panel of former SHC affiliates, Darcy Heuring, Jessica Koski and Elise Lipkowitz will discuss their experiences making the transition from doctoral work to non-academic work in Academic Administration, NGO's and Government Service.
Spring Quarter
April 26 - We will be having a conversation with Josh Honn, Northwestern’s Digital Humanities Librarian, about digital methods (for analysis and visualization) and archives. May 3 - We will be discussing chapter 5, “Race-Medicine in the Colonies,” from Suman Seth’s book Difference and Disease.
